Encountering Jesus and His Revelations
Becoming Real isn’t an easy journey.
Last week we saw Peter and the disciples navigate a storm Jesus sent them into.
And He actually used that storm to reveal His nature to them…
And to invite them to participation in the way His realm operates.
Watch Last Sundays sermon “Peter Encounters Jesus - Part II” from our Becoming Real series.
When we know the God over the storm, then storms in our lives actually are places of profound encounter.
Similarly, there are areas in our souls where God has felt absent.
Where He hasn’t shown up like we expected.
And it hurts.
Sometimes so deep we refused to think about it.
Sometimes we can’t speak of it.
And even our bodies and brains “protect us” from going there.
This Sunday, we’ll see that even if we won’t go there, or if we can’t go there….
Jesus does.
He ministers to our disordered thoughts.
He ministers to our wounded emotions.
And we feel and see this, when we see His deep empathy, His great compassion, His mercy and His love (Eph 3:14-19).
Come this Sunday for Martha and Mary’s encounter with Jesus, Part II, to see that when Jesus reveals His heart it reveals our hearts, too.
He is so intimate (Psalm 139:1-6).
See you Sunday,
Pastor Dave
