How to Become Thankful
We're approaching one of our favorite services of the year--our Thanksgiving Sharing Service!
As usual, show up at 9:30am, but know the structure of the service will be shaped around sharing about a few areas of thanksgiving.
Below, I've included the questions and some scriptures to ponder. You might take some time, as you read through these and consider with the Lord, or with a friend or family member...what am I thankful for in this area?
Also, just to give us some context for the last 365 days, I've included a link for last years Thanksgiving video that was filmed during shelter-in-place--it gave me reason to pause.
And it may serve as an insightful moment of reflection for you as well as you think about all that God has done since then.
Question One:
How have you seen this church be used by God in the lives of others or yourself this past year?
Scripture to Ponder:
Acts 14:27 - “On arriving there, they gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them."
Question Two:
Have you experienced something that has been painful, difficult or stretching this year that you have seen God bless?
Scripture to Ponder:
I Thessalonians 5:18 - “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Question Three:
Who has God put in your life this past year to walk with you and encourage, support, bless and/or speak truth to you?
Scripture to Ponder:
II Thessalonians 1:3 - “We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.”
