Carried by Jesus
Amidst the hustle and bustle, there have been some profound moments this Holy Week.
In particular, there has been a flurry of feedback around House of Prayer, and specifically, the Journeying with Jesus to the Cross event on Tuesday (available again this Friday from 3-5pm in the Sanctuary).
As you walked through the Journey, you would find the Sanctuary filled with candles, scriptural reflections, paintings of Jesus carrying our sufferings, and interactive elements for prayer.
This created a sacred space to connect with Jesus in some of His most significant moments.
You could sense the holiness.

Some walked out in silent awe.
Others walked out saying, “Wow…just wow.”
A few others reflected words like, “That was wonderful…”
Or “What a profound experience with Jesus….”
Or “I’ve never thought through Jesus' suffering like that…that was so intimate.”
Such grief and joy at the same time. We had numbers from our own congregation engaging and others from our Santa Cruz community who journeyed through as well.
You may recall, on Sunday, we studied Jesus cleansing the Temple on Palm Sunday (Mt 21:1-17), declaring that His House shall be called a “House of Prayer for all the Nations" (Isaiah 56:6-8).
And this Journeying with Jesus to the Cross gave us an experience of His heart for us and for all.

And because of Holy Week, we can bring Jesus our pain, our suffering, our sin, our rejection, knowing He hasn’t only felt it and understands it…but that on the Cross, He carried us on His shoulders.
The whole of us. All of us. All the good, bad, and ugly.
Let’s soak that in for a moment.
And know, that if He carried us, we’re moving from areas of death into resurrected life.
May we go deeper with Him this week and invite others alongside too.
Journeying with Jesus to the Cross will be available this Friday from 3-5pm before our Good Friday Service at 5pm.
And make sure to invite friends, family, and neighbors to our Easter Service this Sunday at 9:30 and the Easter Egg Hunt at 11am for 5th grade and under. There will also be an Easter reception for the adults too ;)
Praying He meets you where you are this week,
Pastor Dave
