Kingdom, Come
Last Sunday we dove into the powerful reality of Jubilee in the Old Testament as the heart behind Jesus’ mission and ministry that we call the Kingdom of God.
Jesus comes declaring, “This is the year of the Lord’s favor” (Luke 4:19). To the ancient Israelites, that language is jubilee language. Meaning for Jesus, now is the time when slaves are set free, debts are wiped clean, inheritance is restored (Leviticus 25: 1-55).
When Jesus prays with his disciples, he teaches them to pray “Your kingdom come, your will be done…” (Matthew 6). And for our “Unlocking the Kingdom” series, it can be translated this way:
“Kingdom of God, come. Will of God, be done. On earth, in this place, in me, as it is in heaven.”
The prayer for the Kingdom to come is answered in real-time in your life. Have you ever asked God that His reign and ways would come over your whole life?
Right now, we have some specific places where we’re asking God at High Street for His Kingdom to come, spaces where you can “come” and take steps deeper into the Kingdom.

Creatives Conference - Creativity is a powerful way that we unlock our hearts and step into the Kingdom! on November 2nd from 9 AM to 1 PM, we’re opening up to the broader community to create space where we can integrate and activate creativity and faith. Today share this with your friends to make sure we impact as many as possible!

Harvest in the Park - Being in the community is a huge part of building Kingdom relationships, so this Sunday, instead of doing our potluck at our church, we’re doing a Harvest Festival at Westlake Park. There will be crafts and games! Bring food to share! Be ready to have fun! And most importantly, engage the people around you, especially those who “just happen to be at the park that day” and are set up for God moments ;-)
House of Prayer - We have an amazing team of intercessors and pray-ers who have been praying and worshiping over our community, our region and our church for the last two months. They meet from 12:30 to 2:30pm on Wednesdays, and God is doing amazing things already through this little community. The coolest thing is that none of them are “High Street people.“ They are just here because they know that this is God’s heart and they want to be in the space to pray and be in God’s presence. Reflective service - Entering the Kingdom - next Sunday, we will be doing a reflective service on all that God has been doing in our “Unlocking the Kingdom“ series. This is going to be a powerful time of prayer and worship, of enjoying God‘s presence, of praying over specific areas where we need to see jubilee and of entering more deeply into the Kingdom. Let’s grab our “keys“ and see what the King might do as we worship together!
