Dear High Street Family,

Why do we pray?

For some, prayer comes as natural as breathing and for others, it can feel forced, contrived, or just weird. What is prayer for? What is going on when we pray?

Prayer is the main way God heals our relational wound and also keeps us in daily communion with His Spirit.

But prayer also can be an area of frustration, discouragement, and loss—an area where we face our biggest griefs and wrestle with God.

·      What comes to mind when you think of prayer?

·      When have you encountered God in a time of prayer?

·      If you could choose, what sort of prayer life would you want?

Well, on Sunday, we dove into four aspects of prayer that lead us into authentic connection with God.

If you’re wondering about where to begin:

Click one of the videos below and listen to the brief Devotional and rest-into the time of reflection and song.

·      The Power of Prayer - Norm:

·      Prayer Testimony & The Unknown God - Gabe:

·      Jesus, Prayer & Memory - Janet:

·      Prayer as Conversation with God - Frank:

If you’re drawn in by this, then check out our House of Prayer Playlist here.

We cycle through these songs during House of Prayer on Tuesdays form 9am-4pm.

This playlist is full of songs and prayer moments that are curated by a host of different worship leaders and styles from all over the country.

Why not listen to one of these and spend a few moments in prayer with God now?

Or click it and let it play on your phone as background music while driving to work or doing the dishes. :)

Wherever you’re at, we want to encourage this place of prayer where you can encounter your heart in the Hands of Jesus.

And let’s be expectant for continued encounters with Jesus as we dive into the big question of Is the Bible Reliable?

As the Scriptures, too, invite us into a personal encounter with the Living God.

See you soon,

Pastor Dave
