Why is it that in 1 Corinthians 5:17 the apostle Paul asserts, “If Christ has not been raised, your faith is

futile and you are still in your sins”?

If Christ has not been raised?

Why is it that everything in our faith on that that?

What is it that happened at the resurrection that changed us?

What is it that is available to us now, because Jesus has been raised to life, that wasn’t available

moments before that?

As we wonder-at and receive the reality of his resurrection over and over again, we are becoming real.

We participate in His reality.

Watch last Sunday’s sermon “Pilate: What Is Truth?” from our Becoming Real series

This Sunday, we’ll see through the lens of Mary Magdalene second encounter with Jesus, as

one of the most vivid and intimate exchanges with Jesus...

Jesus doesn’t only come back to life, showcasing His power over death, but He personally

comes to Mary...in her grief.

She had rebuilt her life on Jesus.

Her deliverance from the demonic whisked her into a Kingdom lifestyle.

But that movement seemed to crumble at His cross.

And she’s gone to lay at the ash heap of her hopes.

Even here, Jesus is about to reveal more of Himself to her.

Mary will get the first glimpse of Reality Himself.

That Jesus’ life is not just undefeatable, but it’s infinite.

He is the “eternal-kind-of-life now”. Here. Available. Unending.

Jesus doesn’t “just” deliver us from sin, but He gives us His unending life, because He is Life.

His present Kingdom is breaking now, upon Mary, and, yes, in us, too.

Because He lives, we are becoming real.

See you Sunday,

Pastor Dave
