Becoming A Dwelling Place
Dear High Street Family,
We're in an exciting season as a church--God is on the move!
Watch last Sunday's sermon "Victorious - He Renews Me" from our Easter series, Toward the Cross.
We're in a season as a church where God is taking us deeper.
He's keeping us on our knees.
He's teaching our souls about the unseen and eternal things.
And setting us up for encountering Jesus more and more.
God is at work, shaping us, so we become a dwelling place for Him:
For "[Jesus] came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father....Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit."
Here are three vivid ways you can enter into this right now:
Tonight! We're leading a Regional Worship & Prayer Night at our church from 6-7:30pm.
Our time will be led by Dave and a rag-tag band of the House of Prayer team, staff, and High Streeters. There's a free dinner at 6pm and worship and prayer in the Sanctuary from 6:30-7:30pm--people from all over Santa Cruz county have already RSVP'ed--so if you love prayer, need prayer, or just need to refuel--join us tonight!
This Sunday! We're launching our new sermon series Becoming a Dwelling Place, which will focus on the elusive intersection between the deepening place of our inner life with God and the call to live out the mission of Jesus.
We'll study how, as we journey deeper in life with God, His presence can bring such wonderful experiences, truth-telling, and healing, that we can become people who naturally share and "leak" Jesus to the world around us. And this isn't just an individual invitation, but it's a church wide opportunity to go deeper in the Lord, to Become a Dwelling Place, so He can pour out even wider.
This month, on Saturday April 25th, from 9:30-11am, we're launching a church-wide discipleship initiative called The Journey in which we'll travel together through transformative biblical content that helps us experience Jesus' presence in every season of the soul, and offers beautiful moments of co-journeying with one another in ways that heal us and heal others, too. Join us for The Journey Kick Off on Saturday April 25th to taste what this transformation could look like for you!

Caring For Carla Update!
Flooring is almost complete:) Sam and a select courageous team of volunteers has helped put flooring in this past week at Carla’s mobile home. It looks amazing!! (See one picture below)
Thank you to all of you who have continued to help with this project. Carla’s is due to move home on April 23rd! We will need all hands on deck to move her furniture and belongings back in that week. Please call or text Sam at 831-325-9130 if you can assist him this week in finishing floors of bathrooms, laundry room, closet, etc. And call or text Cori at 831-252-1137 to help with moving belongings back in.

Season of Prayer & Fasting As A Church, Wednesdays through May 6th
Please join us in continued prayer and fasting for lunch on Wednesdays, over the next 6 weeks. We will gather to pray on Wednesdays from 3:30-5:30 in the Sanctuary at House of Prayer through May 6th. If you have dietary restrictions, feel free to alter the timing or the kind of fast.
