Seeking & Finding Christ With Our Whole Heart
I love that we are digging deeper with Jesus – allowing our hearts to be impacted by Him, and following Him with our whole hearts in this season.
Jeremiah 29:13 says: “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
What a beautiful promise.
And inviting God to see us in the truth of our hearts is difficult.
Not for God. He knows it’s there. And He’s covered us with the blood of Jesus.
But sometimes it’s hard for us to see what’s there.
We want to avoid. Pretend it’s not there. Only see the good parts.
Or we dwell there. We swim in our sin because we feel unworthy to receive the love and forgiveness of Jesus.
But the Christian life is one that lives in this tension.
We see the truth of our hearts. And we see the blessed truth of God’s. That He loves us. That He didn’t leave us in a hopeless place.
I look forward to being with you this weekend as we look at Ephesians 2 and consider these ideas.
The price He paid was necessary.
But the glory we live in is freedom.
Freedom to put aside our sinful selves.
Leave them in His hands.
And take a hold of the glorious life in Jesus.
This Sunday, I’m going to invite us to sit with the song This is Our God. You may want to take a listen in advance – maybe even a couple of times. And begin asking God what He might want to say to your heart this weekend.

May we come with expectation together – to allow God to move in our hearts, and within our church community – to accomplish His good works that He prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10, NIV)!
