Washed
Do you ever wish you could wash your heart?
Sometimes our days are so busy.
So distracted.
So complex.
Wouldn’t it be nice just to wash off your soul?
It may seem impossible.
But it’s not unbiblical.
Watch last Sunday’s Sermon, “God is Holy - From Unclean to Washed” from our Abundant Life series.
In fact, God set up the whole temple system to do just that for His people.
“Let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in their midst.” Exodus 25:8
“For on this day shall atonement be made for you to cleanse you. You shall be clean before the Lord from all your sins.” Leviticus 16:30
“I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 36:25-26
Did you know God cares that you feel clean?
Not just forgiven, but washed.
Not just having your debt paid, but embraced.
That on the level of your conscience, God wants you to experience, based on Jesus' sacrifice for you, His total love and acceptance of you, as you are, right now. 1 John 3:19-21
God didn’t want to just forgive you of sin, He wanted to accept you into the Beloved. (Eph 1:5-7 NKJV)
He wants to wash your shame away, so you feel His presence again.
So you authentically experience His love now.
Especially in those subtle places that need a gentle scrub :)
"Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh...
And since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water." Hebrews 10:19-22
It’s not weird that some part of you wants to be clean.
It’s not strange that something in you is begging for a hug.
Your soul cries for One thing to be your everything.
All we need to do is ask for cleansing.
Ask for a fresh washing from His Love.
Ask for the blood of Jesus to cleanse us now.
And then just pause.
Receive.
It’s already all paid for.
See you Sunday, as we study a life-altering, abundant-fueling reality of God’s nature: often quoted, but less believed, “God is Good - From Despair to Hope.”
May we see His Goodness afresh,
Pastor Dave
