Jesus is Here
Dear High Street Family,
As I write, your faces float through my mind, and I think about how deeply thankful I am for a community of believers that are each pursuing God in meaningful ways!
What a gift!
As we’ve sailed well into Unlocking the Kingdom, Jesus is leading this heart-felt community and taking us deeper into His presence.
And I’m hearing this experience of the Holy Spirit across the board, from staff, to church goers, even to visitors.
Recently, I’ve heard two different sources of unsolicited feedback from folks who don’t normally go to our church, they said:
“I walked in the doors. And this isn’t just a small church, the Holy Spirit is really present and moving here!”
And…
“Last Sunday, our church canceled their service on Sunday, so I jumped onto your livestream with my husband and, wow, it’s like the Holy Spirit is so present and moving! I turned to my husband and he said the same thing!”
Wow! So good to hear these unbiased responses to this season at High Street!
More so, these are direct answers to prayers we’ve been praying since our “Catching God’s Momentum” series this summer.
And this is literal evidence of God “Unlocking the Kingdom” in our church body and beyond.
When have you experienced God’s presence at High Street?
What has it been like for you to sense His presence in our church?
When are you sensing His presence during your week?
God is moving. The Holy Spirit’s presence is manifest. Jesus is here. And even those who don’t know us, see Him.
This is awesome.
Now, let’s take it a step deeper.
Join me in praying over this Sunday as we study, “Freedom for the Oppressed”
We’ll look at the power that Jesus displays and releases through us, over darkness and the evil one, and how we, the church, can use our keys to join Him in finishing His mission even today.
See you soon!
Pastor Dave
P.S. If you want to prayerfully consider some of passages for this Sunday, take a look at:
Luke 10:17-21 - what causes Jesus to “rejoice in the Holy Spirit”?
Matthew 12:22-29 - who is Jesus saying He is stronger than? Whose house is He plundering?
Matthew 17:14-20 - where might this issue have begun for this child? What is it that Jesus says is central, and can even move mountains?
Matthew 10:7-8 - what is it that Jesus calls His followers to do when they share His mission to the world?
