Dear Friends,

This Sunday is our last message in “Meals with Jesus”.  Thank you for embracing and participating in this unique series together.  I’ve learned a lot and really enjoyed our meaningful times of study, worship, eating, taking communion and the variety of settings and passages we used.

This coming Sunday we will consider the “Final Banquet” in Heaven that we look forward to someday.  It will be fun to use our imaginations and hopes as we eat together.  I’ve noticed another theme pop up as we move through these meals.  We have seen meals as a time of intimacy/fellowship, for reconciliation and for blessing.  But now, I see that there is an excluding and including aspect to these meals that Jesus hits directly in this last meal.  All are invited, but not everyone attends.  Some we expect to see there won’t be and others we don’t expect to be there will be!

This challenging aspect of “meals with Jesus” prompts us to examine our own hearts and also provides an urgency to compel others to join us at the table.  Our Fall series “Explore God” is the right, next step for our church.  I hope you’ll be praying, inviting and preparing to gather as many as we can to consider Jesus and enter the Kingdom of Heaven.  Let’s remember Jesus’ mission (and thus ours) to seek and save the lost.  I don’t deserve the invitation, but I’m accepting it!  Pass it on.

Pastor Danny
