Grateful. Wonder. Jesus.

As we journey through Jesus’ life in our sermon series, "Jesus 1.0”, I’m grateful and wonder about a few things.

First, I’m grateful to be surprised by how fresh these old stories feel each week. If you’re like me, you’ve heard them many times, studied/discussed/recalled them as well.

Yet pausing to consider their place in the timeline has provided a context to bring new life into them.

This freshness also gives testimony to the fact that Scripture is ALIVE and thus gives life each time we receive them.

I’m also grateful that we have so much information on Jesus, primarily in the form of 4 Gospels.

I’ve expressed the challenge of whittling down this vast amount into 4 months of sermons a number of times.

What a great problem! Too much information about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. :)

As our sermon series suggests, I’m also grateful that Jesus doesn’t change.

There’s a simplicity to knowing and following Jesus that is so vital for us today.

He calls us to love God with everything we’ve got and then share His love with people.

Again and again He calls us to be true followers and offers the Holy Spirit to empower us along the way.

Same message throughout the centuries, from the same God.

And so now I wonder….What are you grateful for in this series?

What is your favorite “Jesus story” if pressed to choose just one or two?
