A “Mounting” Challenge
I was very encouraged by our time together on Sunday.
As I remarked at the start of the sermon I had the sense that the Lord was really moving in our gathering. Aren’t you grateful that God is gracious enough to bless us with his presence each time we gather and even move in a number of ways as seen through people and stories?
I loved our worship time together…the leading of announcements, prayer and scripture by Todd —the opportunity to hear about royal family kids camps and of course the Lippman announcement of a new baby to be born .
The equipping hour was no less special.
I love the feedback and the evaluation we went through as we examined our church for extra things that may or may not be necessary. I loved our conversation on the word partake first brought up by Mark and then continued by Jeff.
There was honesty, grace, wisdom and real communication in our church family during those moments. I’m grateful to be part of a church that has a variety of perspectives and the freedom to share those with one another. Well done.
OK, so here’s my challenge for you all before this Sunday.
I’d like you to read Matthew chapter 5, 6 and 7
Which has a more thorough portrayal of Jesus‘s sermon on the mount than the gospel of Luke.
Would you do that?
Sunday, I’ll be preaching from the sermon on the mount and will be focused mostly on the passage as given in Luke chapter 6. So this will help prepare our hearts and minds to hear from Jesus.
Of course, I won’t be able to give adequate time and space to such a wonderful sermon, so I’d like you to become even more familiar with it by reading it a few times before the message this Sunday.
I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday in person outside or online.
