Edge & Oasis- Parent/Student Letter
Hey everyone!
I apologize for the late newsletter this month, but we’ve been taking planning one day at a time lately, and we finally have details dialed in for youth events the rest of October. It has been so good getting back in the routine of being together lately, and we hope it has been refreshing for your kids!
As usual, I have attached the calendar for the month below, here is some important info regarding different events:
Bagels: This past Sunday we met in person for “Bagels” for the first time since March and it was great! We will continue to do this each Sunday from 11:00-12:00. We will be meeting outdoors for this, and providing donuts or other store bought breakfast pastries (served with gloves of course). For those of you unfamiliar with “Bagels”, it is a time we spend together with Jr. High and Sr. High students after the church service to catch up with one another, discuss the sermon and applications of the teaching, and pray with one another. It’s a great and encouraging way for us all to start the week!
Edge/Oasis 10/13, 10/14 Movie Night: This week for Edge and Oasis, we will be making up for our postponed outdoor movie night from a few weeks back. We are going to be watching “Nacho Libre”. We will provide popcorn, candy, and sodas; all served with gloves. Students will want to bring chairs, blankets, etc. This is a great opportunity for them to invite friends to a mellow night, so please encourage them to do so!
Halloween Party: We are super excited for this! Upon realizing that most activities that kids are used to on Halloween are not happening this year, a couple other local Youth Pastors and I decided to team up and come up with a plan for an alternative activity on Halloween. So we have planned a Halloween party that we are calling “Halloween (Ain’t Cancelled) Party". This will be a completely CDC Compliant Gathering, and completely outdoors at Hope Church Soquel. We will have several different activities going on including games, an outdoor movie, a half pipe for skating, a pump track for biking, a costume contest, and food will be provided. This is on Halloween from 7:00-10:00PM. I have also attached the official flyer for this below. Again, what a wonderful opportunity for students to invite friends to!
