Our voices resounded like angels on Sunday as we laid hands on one another, bridging the aisles, and sang  "The Blessing:”

"The Lord bless you, and keep you

Make His Face shine upon you

And be gracious to you,

The Lord turn His Face toward you

And bring you peace.

May His favor be upon you

And a thousand generations

And your family and your children

And their children and their children."

This is the nature of God's heart, to bless.

  • God gave "The Blessing" as an inheritance to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the people of God. (Genesis 12:1-2).

  • And "The Blessing" is something we intentionally walk in, even wrestle with God for, in our lives (Genesis 32:26).

It's such a profound invitation to step into "The Blessing" of God, not just as individuals, but as a people, as a church.

And we have the honor of inviting others into His Blessing, giving away His heart, His goodness, to others.

It's profound for Christians and non-Christians alike to know that "God is for you" and "He is with you" and "He wants the best for you!"

  • What is it like for you to hear these words today?

  • What might it be like to share this with someone you know?

This Sunday, we're jumping into the next portion of "the Blessing" as we recount God's story at High Street, how we began, what He's done, and where we're going!

This will include an amazing panel of ladies who have done the research and reflection, and I'm praying this service inspires us and reveals more of God's heart and intention for our church today!

See you Sunday!

Pastor Dave
