Much of the wonder of God’s active work in us is trapped in the stories around us.

It can be difficult, even with God on our side, and living inside, to keep our minds aware of the God who is leading the dance.

And often, it’s not until you hear someone else’s story of what God has done and is doing in their life that it relights a flame in a needed area of our own story, too!

That’s why, at the end of our Seek Ye First series, we planned this Sunday as a Testimony Sunday.

This Sunday, like the past Thanksgiving services, we’re amplifying the voice of the church to lead, preach, declare, confess, worship, discern, and intercede through sharing what God has done!

A testimony is sharing what God is doing and who He is in the middle of your story.

We’ll reflect on these questions together:

  • What do you see God is doing in the life of our church body? In your life? Is there a story or moment you can share to help us see this?

  • How has God been healing, restoring, or realigning your body, soul, or spirit in any way this season?

  • How has God been revealing Himself to you in the middle of struggle, darkness, or testing?

  • What is something the Lord is stirring in your heart this morning to share? Are you hearing anything from Him for our church in this season? (Remember to make sure it’s edifying, encouraging, and building up, rather than tearing down.)

This is going to be so shaping and energizing for each of us!

Our awareness, engagement, and partnership with God are amplified when we hear others share about their God stories.

  • We will find surprising scriptures coming to mind.

  • Hope for healing where it hasn’t yet happened.

  • Strength for endurance and long suffering.

  • Counsel in how God actively works in our stories

  • Peace as we see God leading up our whole church

  • And unique touches of His presence meant only for you.

So come this Sunday to listen, to share, to encourage, to discern, to proclaim, to worship, to intercede and to discover ways God is leading and will lead His church!

And I encourage you even now to consider:

  • Where has God been showing up in my story?

  • What can I share that might bless His heart and bless others, too?

May He do more than we ask or imagine,

Pastor Dave

P.S. A few scriptures to encourage you as you prepare for Sunday:

“One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.”

Psalm 145:4 ESV

“Many Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony,
‘He told me all that I ever did.’”

John 4:39 ESV

“Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul.”

Psalm 66:16 ESV
