Rebuilding God’s House

Hey everyone, I hope you’re good with having another Dave in your midst this coming Sunday as I guest speak for Pastor Dave.

In too many ways to mention, your Dave and this Dave are a lot alike. But we are also different. I live in hot hot hot Merced in the Central San Joaquin Valley. Your Dave lives by the beach in perfect shorts weather. In other ways, the two of us are like the Israelites, and possibly you, too. Have you ever lived in the land of good intentions? Like God’s children, the Israelites, who intended to rebuild God’s house after their 70-year exile in Babylonia, but some things got in the way. The next two Sundays, we will study the book of Haggai.

They failed to do what they had told God they would do. What happened next is our focus for the next two Sundays when we open up God’s Word and seek to learn how to translate our good intentions into reality. For our good, but even more, for God, who longs for us to please Him and bring honor to His name.
