A Great Surfer and Friend
As you already know, each week we will have a guest speaker on Sunday.
I’ve decided this year that instead of surprising you on Sunday that I would write a small introduction and reflection on each speaker before they come and preach.
They’ve all preached here before and done excellent work. I’m expectant of the Lord to use each one in your lives and the life of our church.
This week we have Kyle Pitchford!
Kyle is the College/Young Adults pastor at Twin Lakes Church, leading “the Hub”.
Our own Drew Loring was very involved with Kyle and was a better youth director thanks to Kyle’s mentoring.
Kyle is a caring husband and dad and a stand-out surfer in Santa Cruz.
He loves to learn and is a gifted communicator. He’s a lot of fun to be around. How enjoyable are you to be around? (sorry for such an offensive question!! —clearly I’m not fun to be around…)
Seriously, we all have parts that can be repelling to people. It can be a negative mindset, an annoying habit or any number of things. Pause and consider if there is anything that could use some attention by you and the Lord.
As I think and pray for Kyle, I have a few questions for you as well:
What part of Santa Cruz County do you connect with?
Is there a niche or group you find yourself in regularly? It could be a sport, activity, hobby, ministry etc…
How do you express your faith in that context?
Kyle is a parent with young kids and a full plate of work each day. How are you at asking for help in challenging seasons of life?
Who do you turn to?
Perhaps your season isn’t as hectic, then who comes to mind that you might offer some help to?
Enjoy Kyle!
