Storytelling and Prayer Time!
Dear HSCC,
I am looking forward to this Sunday, and I hope you are too. Yes, it is always great to worship God together, hear from God’s Word, connect with one another in meaningful ways and lean forward into another week with His Spirit.
What I’m especially looking forward to is hearing how LAST SUNDAY went for each of you. I have no idea how the prayer gathering at 9:30 went (I’ll find out tomorrow in meetings with staff and PLT). Did you contend in prayer for us and the people of Pajaro? Were you encouraged?
I don’t know how the team of advocates fared with assisting the needy in paperwork. Were there success stories? That surely was difficult yet valuable work.
I don’t know how the dispensary office work went either. I know a number of people were looking forward to getting valuable items into the hands of needy people. I watched them cart bags of items into cars in Santa Cruz and headed towards Watsonville. Was the work a joy or challenging? Did you enjoy the people you met? How were the conversations?
I do have an idea how the clean-up went. I saw both houses we served and the “below ground” crawl spaces that needed dirt/mud removal. I know the work was tough, required teamwork and was appreciated. I just don’t know the stories of all that participated in the variety of jobs.
How did it go? Let’s share on Sunday with one another and continue to lift these people up in prayer to the Lord.
Danny
PS—I do know how it went with Robin since we raked mud in the dark together under a house for a while and had wonderful conversations about Forest Gump, Socrates and God. :)
