Happy Thanksgiving in July?!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

”Huh? Thanksgiving isn’t for another 4 months, Danny. What are you talking about?”

That’s right, I’m not referring to the holiday in November…I’m talking about our Potluck this Sunday after church.

Have you missed Potlucks?

Well, this one is going to unforgettable. We will be filling up our plates in the Fireside Room. Then settling back into our seats in the Sanctuary at the round tables in to enjoy food, friendship, and an awards ceremony.

(did you say awards ceremony?)

Yes—the first annual “HSCC Fortified Awards” Ceremony.

Are you getting excited yet? In following with Nehemiah 7, we are going to pause and remember actual people in our church by name.

Those who served back in Nehemiah’s day were chosen for their faithfulness and God-fearing lives. There are a lot of people in our church who exhibit those traits and we want to point them out.

• During the meal, we will take some time (and fun) to honor those who have served in strategic and helpful ways in a variety of ministries at HSCC.

• Please make an effort to attend, thank and support those in our church community.

• Don’t worry, you won’t be called up on stage to make any speeches…just a simple hand wave will do. :)

• And if you know of someone who served and would appreciate your encouragement, please do so personally as well. We can all use more encouragement, right?
  

Just like the actual “Thanksgiving Service” in November is one of our favorites,

I hope this Sunday will be a special and memorable time in our church history.

Let’s make a habit of pausing to celebrate, appreciate and care for one another…

and combined with a potluck—can it get any better??
