A New Thing

Dear High Street Family,

As we launch into this new season together, I am expectant for God to do a new thing among us.

God has been moving in fresh ways in 2024.

We dug deep in the Renewal Series in January/February that carried us into the receiving rhythms of the Holy Spirit and testified of revival stories of old and new.

We’ve been pressing into Jesus’ cross, resurrection and ascension in our I Speak Jesus series, and witnessing the powerful life-change Jesus reveals, even to His own followers!

And this last Sunday, not so coincidently, we’re studying Pentecost and the coming of the Holy Spirit with power.

Every Sunday I’m hearing talk from folks like you about how Jesus is meeting you in the worship service or Equipping Hour, what you’re learning that is fresh and relevant, and how you’re sharing this within your circles of influence.

We’re seeing new responses in music and worship. Moments of powerful corporate prayer. Fresh ideas and excitement from staff. And even a new Lead Pastor ;)

And these signs are just the small acorn of the oak tree that God is growing at High Street.

Consider for a moment, “What is God dreaming of when He thinks of High Street?”

“What did Jesus anticipate when He paid the price for us?”

Or as Norm would say, “What if Jesus was really there on a Sunday at High Street?”

Pause with these questions, open your heart to the Lord...

And ask for Him to lead us “further up and further in,” in the weeks and months ahead.

This June we’re launching our new series and church-wide vision titled “Catching God’s Momentum!” We’ll continue to study Acts 2-7 and specifically note where God is already-active in our church and catch our momentum from His heart, movement, and power to shape and build into our future together.
