Dear HSCC Family,

This Sunday we launch our new series (experience actually) “Meals with Jesus”.
I have really been looking forward to this, excited to see how the Lord meets us as we gather.  Coming into Sunday, here’s some details I’d like for you to know to make it even better.

1.  Potluck—
In our normal pattern of the 3rd Sunday of the month, we will be having a potluck.  Please bring a salad, side dish/main course or dessert to share with the congregation.  BONUS: bring some Mediterranean/Middle Eastern style food that Matthew might have served at his Feast (Luke 5:29)…and/or make it something a “rich person” might serve.  Have fun, be creative and involve your household if you can.

2.
We will be in the Sanctuary for our worship service and the meal, sitting at round tables.   The room looks great!  When you arrive at church, place your food on the main table in the front of the sanctuary as an offering.  If your food needs to be kept warm/cold in a church kitchen you’ll have an opportunity in the middle of the service to go and grab it when we are ready to eat.  We are asking families to sit with their children or secure an adult for them at another table.

3.  Find your seat at one of the tables, and please invite someone new to find their seat at the table.
All are welcome in the Lord’s house, especially when there is food!  We will worship, discuss, learn and share communion at our tables together.  Each table will be dismissed one at a time to go through the food line in an orderly manner.  Let’s help each other in set-up, clean-up and everything in-between.

I am anticipating this season to be refreshing, encouraging and enjoyable for everyone.

I hope you will dive in to the experience week after week as we consider what it would be like to have a meal with Jesus, looking through each meal described in the Gospel of Luke

See you Sunday at 9:30!

Pastor Danny
