Seder, Supper, & Service
Hello HSCC,
Two big pieces of information I want you to see in this all-church email.
1. This Sunday we will be experiencing a “Passover Meal” as we remember Jesus’ Last Supper in Luke 22 with the Disciples. We will have church in the sanctuary and then move over to the ACE to have this special time together. We are having a POTLUCK with the theme of a Passover Meal. So, please bring normal items (side dishes, main course, desserts) and I will be sure we have the speciality items (bitter herbs, matzah bread, hard boiled egg, lamb etc…) for the Passover Seder Plate displayed up front. I’ve invited a special guest, Brian Martin, to facilitate a few of the unique portions of the meal together.
Disclaimer: We will be only be hitting the major themes of a passover meal, which is only observed in the springtime, not August! My hope is to give us a “taste” of the experience and connect the dots with the Old Testament holiday with Jesus’ meal in the Upper Room before his death and resurrection. It should be a meaningful time together.
Summary: We are having a potluck after church in the ACE, bring food (sides/salads/main/dessert) to share as you are able. It will be Passover themed and you’re free to bring normal foods or something that fits a Passover meal menu (google it)
2. Thank you everyone for participating in “5th Sunday Serve” last Sunday. We had a great time cleaning up Westlake Elementary, HSCC and praying in the Sanctuary. We filled up a rented dumpster with junk from church (Youth Rooms look great!) and brush from church and Westlake. We enjoyed working alongside one another and the before and after was great to see. I am so proud of our church for taking on such big projects with a heart to serve. A special thanks to Todd Trowbridge for leading the charge up at Westlake. I bet he had to take 3 showers and extra Advil to get back to normal. I hope we have some pictures to share on Sunday…send any to danny@hscchurch.org
I hope to see you this Sunday at 9:30, and Joe will be leading worship again with us. :)
